Other Marques
Although we're something of a specialist, we do have experience of other niche cars - usually because we've owned one at some stage, although please don't bring us your Ford Mondeo!

BMW 2002 and 3-Series (E36)
| Interestingly, the brakes of the pre '89 Maserati are from the 2002, and post '89 are from the 3-Series. |

We also seem to have done a lot of E36 suspension and trim work, and plenty of 2002 engine and suspension repairs over the years. |
Chevrolet Blazer (S10)
If you trash your engine and expect us to pick your car up, the trailer will be towed by one of these, so we know how to look after them.
Interestingly, this is a UK spec RHD version of which several thousand were imported into the UK and sold through Vauxhall dealers in 1999 and 2000. However, they no longer want to know and will refuse to service or repair them.
|
One peculiarity of the UK spec car is that to pass UK construction and use regulations two "systems" need to be disabled by the immobiliser. The integrated immobiliser only disables the fuel pump, so there is a dealer fitted immobiliser that prevents the starter motor engaging. However, this French made immobiliser is extremely unreliable and is best removed as it has a habit of leaving you stranded and you have to come back to the car 24 hours later when it has reset. |
The only UK Chevy America specialist (in Manchester) will tell you a lot of stories about how difficult it is to remove, refuse to give out any information about it, and insist that you get your car to them for it to be removed. Then charge you £350 for the privilege.
It's not that difficult, but it is time consuming - taking all day. However, we can disable the secondary immobiliser and restore reliability to your car for a flat fee of £150. And, we can come to you if necessary. And, although it was necessary for construction and use regulations to homologate the car, it isn't an MoT requirement, so it can just be removed.
